Press Escape, then Tab, to move focus out of the editor. Read-only pastes still allow selecting and copying text.

Scripts are automatically deleted after the expiry you choose.

How Bashr Works

Three steps. One line. Paste a script, choose an interpreter, and Bashr returns a raw URL plus a ready-to-run command.

  1. Write or paste

Start with the setup script you already keep in a gist or a chat thread.

  2. Choose the command

Pick Bash, POSIX sh, Zsh, or PowerShell and the downloader you use.

  3. Create and run

Create a paste, then copy the ready-to-run command. The raw URL is the only public artifact.

Frequently Asked Questions About Bashr

Questions, answered. How sharing, editing, and expiry actually work.

What is Bashr.run?
Bashr.run is a browser-based tool that turns a shell script into a read-only raw URL and a ready-to-run terminal command. It supports Bash, POSIX sh, Zsh, and PowerShell, needs no account, and pastes expire automatically.
Does Bashr.run execute my script?
No. Bashr.run stores and serves the script as plain text and does not execute it on its servers. The generated command downloads it and passes it to the interpreter you choose, so it runs in your local shell with your permissions.
What happens to my script after it expires?
Your script becomes unavailable when its expiry time is reached and is automatically removed afterward. You can also delete a paste yourself before it expires.
Is my script private?
No. Anyone with your raw URL can view your script until it expires or is deleted. Treat your link as shareable access and never include passwords, access tokens, or private keys.
Can someone edit my script using its URL?
No. Your raw URL allows people to view your script, not edit it. Only the browser with editing access can modify or delete your paste. There is no editable share link.
What happens if I use Incognito?
Closing all Incognito windows can remove your editing access. You may no longer be able to edit or delete your paste afterward. Anyone with its raw URL can still access it until it expires or is deleted.
How long does a paste last?
Choose 1 hour, 24 hours, 3 days, or 7 days. You can change the expiry of a paste you own while it is active. Once it expires, the link stops working and the script is automatically removed.
Can I delete a paste or reset its link?
Yes. Delete removes your paste. Reset link creates a replacement with a new URL and disables the old link. Both actions require editing access.
How does script sharing work?
Write or paste a script, choose an interpreter, and copy the generated command. Share the raw URL or command with anyone who needs to run your script. No account or file uploads are required.
What does the generated command do?
It downloads your script and passes it to your selected interpreter. The script runs with the permissions of your local terminal, so make sure you trust its contents before running it.
Which interpreters are supported?
Choose Bash, POSIX sh, Zsh, or PowerShell. Scripts may need different syntax for different interpreters. Bashr does not guarantee compatibility or verify whether a script is safe.
Do I need an account?
No. You can create and share scripts without registering. Keep access to the browser where you created your paste, because losing editing access may prevent you from managing it later.
